When you get started on Twitter you must set your strategy if you are looking to use Twitter to drive buisnessresults. It is a powerful business tool for many business models. When you are looking to build a fast growth high-margin business – you must look for every tool you can leverage to increase your results. The focus of this will be on how I set my strategy – this strategy is a key component of my training program www.TwitterEntrepreneur.com. In it you see exactly how I execute on the strategy I set.
As any strategy should be – it needs to be broad enough to give guidance and direction as you put together your operating plan and daily method of operations. I have labeled my Twitter Strategy – The 9 Is Of Twitter.
My Nine I Strategy Is as follows:
- Introduce – twitter is like a giant business social function or cocktail party. You have a great time and an effective business time when you are proactive – outreach and introduce your self to people you don’t know or that you want to get to know! Don’t sit on the sidelines. Better to be busy meeting many than spending all your time with one or two. I know this will spark disagreement – but as I started this is my strategy – feel free to copy or set your own. I use tools to introduce myself on Twitter
- Interact – Get out and interact – the beauty of social media and how Twitter is currently structured – you can jump into a conversation and meet new people. Get out an do it!
- Interested – Like dating 101 – be interested in others! Don’t try to be interesting to everyone. Take dedicated steps to learn about others!
- Inform – Take daily action to share information with others – blogs, articles, news stories, pictures!
- Inspire – Look for ways to inspire others, quotes, books, videos to mention a few
- Ingenuity – be as different as you can – Remember the old TV show MacGyver. He is the definition of ingenious! he was a master at using things in different ways, combining things to appear creative and original.
- Interconnect – Look for people beyond your immediate group – look for introductions – maximize things like #FollowFriday to meet friends of friends. Such an open and easy thing to do! If you are friends with someone – you can bet their will be mutual interests with their friends. You get to check them out on Twitter by looking right at their followers!
- Integrity – Be who you are on Twitter – Don’t try to act like someone else. Guy Kawasaki says that Twitter shows your most authentic real person in all of social media. Make him right!
- Invite – If I have followed all the above - I believe I will have earned the right to talk with people about my business”at the right time” without appearing to be pushy or all business!
The 9 I’s Of My Twitter Strategy
Feel free to use the above outline. many times it has helped me with a decision I had to make by just re-visiting. It supports me in my decisions not to use things like automated DMs – how impersonal and inappropriate – Ah another day another topic!
Have an Amazing Day!
